ROLE
Agence France-Presse (AFP), one of the world's leading news agencies, is looking for dynamic, experienced editors to join its English-language newsdesk at its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong.
The desk produces multimedia stories for AFP’s global audience. While there is a primary focus on the Asia-Pacific, desk editors will also become involved in stories from around the globe at short notice or on dedicated shifts covering other world regions.
THE JOB
The Bangkok and Southeast Asia correspondent is core to our English-language coverage of one of AFP's most dynamic regions, which takes in Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos.
The regional coverage is extremely diverse, ranging from crime, lifestyle and politics in Thailand to the impact of China's grand plans on environment of its smaller neighbours and the aftermath of the military coup in Myanmar.
THE JOB
The English-language correspondent in Beirut is part of a team of seven text journalists (among them the bureau chief) working in Arabic, English and French.
As well as covering Lebanon and its current devastating economic and political crisis, you will contribute to AFP’s coverage of the conflict in Syria.
